Rise Martial Arts is 3 generations of martial artists that is family owned and operated. When we all began our martial arts journeys, the positive impact it had on our lives was remarkable.

When we opened Rise Martial Arts in 2017, we made a commitment to our community in Des Peres to create an enjoyable environment for students to improve their fitness, while building confidence they can carry into their everyday lives. It is our privilege and honor to take the the knowledge we have received in our own martial arts training and pass it on to the students at our school.

FUN, EXCITEMENT & PREPARATION: ATA MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENTS!

One of the most fun parts of martial arts training is the ability to test your skills by competing in a tournament. Tournaments are not only fun for competitors, but they also become a great social experience for parents as well! There are currently 130,000 ATA Martial Arts members worldwide. ATA Martial Arts students compete in local tournaments against other ATA schools, advancing from District levels, to State levels, to a yearly Spring National competition in Las Vegas, NV. The competition winners gather at the ATA World Expo Tournament in Little Rock, AR in the summer, competing against finalists from all over the planet in one of largest martial arts competitions in the world.

Our daughter had a lovely 8th birthday party at Rise. Not only did all of her friends have a blast learning forms and playing games, but the other parents kept saying what a fun concept it was for a child's birthday party. To top it all off, she got to cut her birthday cake with a real sword! Albeit with help from Master Lee. I highly recommend having your child's next birthday party at Rise. My son, Roman, has been a student at Rise Martial Arts for a couple of years, and he was excited to celebrate his 7th birthday at Rise with his friends. Everyone had a great time playing games and learning some taekwondo moves led by a couple of our favorite Rise instructors, Mr. Casey and Mr. Reed. They made things so easy and provided our choice of snacks for the kids. Roman's favorite parts were being a black belt for the day and cutting his cake with a samurai sword. It was a great experience for everyone and it was a very memorable birthday for him.

My son has been attending Rise Martial Arts about 7 months. He is ADHD and receives services at school for fine motor and gross motor skills, in addition to academic services. During our time at Rise, I have witnessed growth in all areas. My son's confidence has improved immensely. He is also eager to learn new skills and receive feedback from the instructors. Master Lee and all of the instructors at Rise are patient and committed to ensuring all of the students are progressing, while also emphasizing the importance of respect, integrity, perseverance and focus. Character development is embedded in each class, which I see put in to practice at home with Logan. His ability to focus is improving, which has always been a major struggle. I am happy I decided to enroll my son at Rise Martial Arts!

This is a family run, Martial Arts studio and not a day care. Don't get me wrong, the instructors are magic with the little kids to get them to run, kick and dodge. I consider one of, if not the best stand up martial arts place. I've got the whole family enrolled now. It's an ATA Taekwondo gym, but there is a mix of martial arts instruction when it comes to self defense. In addition it is not a black belt factory, so expect to put in time and effort. If anything this place is a champion factory. I've watched kids, teenagers and adults blossom at Rise, which includes the fam and me too! The place is clean, which is important to me. My kids have been going for about 18 months and love it. Everyone is super nice, welcoming and helpful. Some of the best moments of every week are at Rise and the family ride to and from! I could go on and on about how great Rise is.
