Please wear comfortable clothes suitable for participating in martial arts activities. A t-shirt and shorts/sweatpants is perfect.

All children MUST have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian in order to participate.

What to Bring

Campers are required to bring a lunch daily - (please pack a healthy lunch), two snacks and a water bottle.

Campers should wear comfortable clothing that will not restrict movement.

Weekly Themes

Each week we will focus on different themes with coordinating character development lessons. These life challenges will be used in the martial arts classes and theme activities.

Rise has become a very special part my kid's life. I have seen him grow and learn basic life skills under a very caring and professional instruction. Their option of having Zoom lessons has been a great way to share with other kids during the times that we have had to stay home.

This is a family run, Martial Arts studio and not a day care. Don't get me wrong, the instructors are magic with the little kids to get them to run, kick and dodge. I consider one of, if not the best stand up martial arts place. I've got the whole family enrolled now. It's an ATA Taekwondo gym, but there is a mix of martial arts instruction when it comes to self defense. In addition it is not a black belt factory, so expect to put in time and effort. If anything this place is a champion factory. I've watched kids, teenagers and adults blossom at Rise, which includes the fam and me too! The place is clean, which is important to me. My kids have been going for about 18 months and love it. Everyone is super nice, welcoming and helpful. Some of the best moments of every week are at Rise and the family ride to and from! I could go on and on about how great Rise is.

Does my child need to have any previous martial arts experience in order to participate?

Absolutely not! We have classes for all ability levels and no previous experience is required. More experienced members help new ones, and we make sure that everyone feels right at home on their first day of class.

Will my child be learning how to “fight”?

The simple answer is that we aren't teaching them to "fight"; we teach them to DEFEND themselves (if ever needed). Our mission at Rise has always been RESPECT, INTEGRITY, SERVICE, EXCELLENCE. These are qualities of a great leader and Black Belt; and by being a Black Belt, it's not just about punching and kicking, but by being a good person and developing good character.
